How it works, what you control, and what happens after you click Apply. The answers you need before you hand off the busywork.
Getting started
What is Surge Apply?
Surge Apply is an AI-assisted job application service. You upload a resume, describe the roles and locations you want, and choose jobs to apply to. Surge prepares answers using your information, asks you for anything missing, and submits ready applications through Daily Apply. You can follow their progress in your dashboard.
Do I choose which jobs it applies to?
Yes. You can select jobs yourself, or use Pro to automatically apply to jobs that match a specific saved search. You choose the search criteria and whether to enable automatic applications. Review upcoming jobs, change their order, or remove a job before it starts. You can also pause Daily Apply when you want to take a break.
How much does Surge Apply cost?
Pro is $20 USD per month and includes a 7-day free trial. It renews monthly after the trial unless you cancel. An Application Pack is a separate $10 USD purchase for 100 application submissions. Your first Pro payment has a 7-day no-questions-asked refund period. Any applicable taxes are shown before purchase.
Your resume & answers
What kind of resume can I upload?
Upload a PDF, DOC, or DOCX file up to 10 MB. Use a clear, text-based resume with up-to-date roles and dates so your experience is easier to read. You can manage your resume from the Resumes tab after onboarding.
How does the AI know what to put in my applications?
Surge compares the questions for a selected job with the text of your resume and the answers you have already saved. It uses that information to prepare answers and can combine related questions into a simpler prompt. Questions that still need your input appear in Answers and in your notifications. AI can make mistakes, so keep your information accurate and review prepared answers during onboarding.
Will I have to answer the same questions again?
Usually not when the answer is already available and relevant. Your saved answers become context for later applications. Company-specific questions keep their employer context: an answer about working at one company is not automatically treated as an answer about working at another. You can edit your personal information and saved answers in the Answers tab.
Does Pro include AI-assisted resume editing?
Yes. Pro includes AI-assisted resume editing to help tailor your resume to the roles you want, alongside AI-assisted application answers based on your resume and saved information.
Plans & billing
What does Pro include?
Pro includes up to 10 application submissions per day, AI-assisted resume editing, and automatic applications for jobs that match a specific saved search. Your resume, reusable answers, and application tracking stay together in one place. Available listings and any questions that still need your input can affect how many applications are ready to submit.
What happens after the Pro free trial?
Your Pro trial lasts 7 days from enrollment. Unless you cancel before it ends, the first $20 USD monthly payment is charged when the trial ends, plus any applicable taxes. Pro then renews monthly until canceled. Signing in by itself does not enroll you in a paid subscription.
How does the refund guarantee work?
Email support@whalesharks.io within 7 days after your first Pro payment for a full refund, no questions asked. You do not need to give a reason, and using Pro does not remove this guarantee. It applies to the first Pro payment only, not renewal payments or Application Packs. See Refund Information for details and any rights that apply by law.
How do I cancel Pro?
Email support@whalesharks.io from your account email and ask to cancel. Send your request before the trial ends or before your next renewal to avoid that charge. Cancellation stops future subscription charges; a refund of an existing charge is a separate request under the refund policy. Pausing Daily Apply does not cancel a subscription.
What is an Application Pack?
An Application Pack is a one-time $10 USD purchase for 100 application submissions. It does not automatically renew and is separate from your monthly Pro subscription. A submission is an application sent to an employer, not an interview or a hiring outcome. Packs do not include the Pro free trial or first-payment refund guarantee.
Finding the right jobs
Which jobs and application platforms are supported?
The current catalog focuses on jobs published through Workday career sites. Available jobs depend on the listings in Surge, and a listing can close or change at the employer. Surge Apply is an independent service, not Workday or an employer, and does not cover every job board or career site.
Can I search for remote jobs and jobs near me?
Yes. Choose US cities or ZIP codes, set your search radius, and choose how much of your suggested mix should be remote versus local. Location matching uses mapped coordinates rather than just matching words in a location name. Some coordinates are approximate, and remote jobs may still restrict where you can live. Always review the listing’s location requirements.
Is my remote percentage an exact promise?
It is a preference for your suggested job mix, not a guarantee. Available listings, your role preferences, and remote eligibility affect what can be shown. You still make the final choice about which jobs to apply to.
Applications & your account
When will my applications be submitted?
Daily Apply works through the jobs you select according to your schedule, application order, and plan’s daily allowance. A job needs to finish preparation and have its required answers before it is ready. A scheduled time is not a guaranteed completion time: employer requirements, listing availability, and processing can affect submission.
How do I know an application was sent?
Follow the status in Applications or Daily Apply. Preparing means answers are being prepared; Needs answers means your input is required; Queued means scheduled for later; Ready means prepared for submission; Applying means submission is in progress. Applied is shown once submission is confirmed. A failed attempt is not treated as a successful application.
Does Surge Apply guarantee an interview or a job?
No. Surge helps with application preparation, submission, and organization. Employers decide whom to interview and hire. Thoughtful job selection and accurate information still matter, and no application service can promise a hiring outcome.
What information does Surge use for applications?
Surge uses your resume, preferences, and saved answers to prepare applications you authorize. Your resume document or extracted text and relevant answers may be processed by AI services, including sensitive details you choose to provide. Employers receive information with your applications. Your resume is stored privately, not published on your profile. Read our Privacy Policy for details, or contact support to request account deletion.
